Squidward prepares his house for a TV show. This season received a negative reaction from the fans, and is classified under Infamous. This season started using gross-out jokes just to keep the audience's attention, and episodes started getting boring, with many episodes dragging out far too long. Characters were really flanderized, with Patrick basically being just stupid, and SpongeBob being just happy. Season 6 is when the show started going really down-hill. SpongeBob's holes make music in the wind, attracting jellyfish. SpongeBob develops amnesia and goes missing. Krabs, Sandy, and Plankton journey to Atlantis. Squidward becomes nice after being shocked by an electric fence. SpongeBob falls in love with a Krabby Patty. People don't like this season as some episodes are boring, and sometimes characters are unlikable. The Patty Gadget" and "Sing a Song of Patrick," but also had some bad episodes like " Waiting," " To Love a Patty" and " Atlantis SquarePantis." It had some good episodes like "Friend or Foe," "SpongeBob vs. Season 5 was a pretty mixed bag according to fans and critics. Patrick gives SpongeBob a glob of gum for Best Friends Day. In previous seasons the show did have some of this humor, but also had lots of multi-layered and adult humor. The second thing is the show relying on Self-Referential and Slapstick jokes. Patrick became stupider, Squidward started losing that sense of joy, just being empathetic, and Mr. stupid and happy, losing all that intelligence he had in the first three seasons. SpongeBob started losing his good-morality, and became. However, this season is the start of two things, the first is Flanderization, which basically means a character trait is inflated so much it's the only trait. While this season was the start of the show's downfall in quality, it's still considered good by fans, with many saying the best episodes of this season are great, and some even including it as part of the "classic" era of SpongeBob. Season 4 was the first season without most of the original people that worked on the show, including creator Stephen Hillenburg. There's only two infamous episodes in this season. This was originally going to be the last season, but Nickelodeon demanded a fourth season. Season 3 was the last season during the show's original run, with everyone leaving to work on The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie. SpongeBob pretends to be stupid to make Patrick look smart in front of his parents. There's only one episode in this season that is semi-infamous. Season 2 is when the show started exploding in popularity, with the episode Band Geeks being considered the best episode in the entire series, and one of the best episodes in kids shows overall. SpongeBob accidentally transforms into a snail after being injected with snail plasma. Season 1 premiered in 1999 and is considered good by fans, containing classics like "Pizza Delivery." There is only one Semi-Infamous episode.
